SeaVsat provides HMC Balder with broadband services

Heerema Marine Contractors (HMC) has asked SeaVsat to supply it's crew on the Balder with Broadband Internet and VoIP voice services. The dedicated VSAT system via Ku-band will be implemented for these services.

The Balder is a big vessel belonging to HMC. It is used in big and complex projects at sea that require big cranes. On the Balder about 300 crew are active. The Balder was constructed in 1978 in Japan by Mitsui and measures 505 by 282 feet.

HMC  is a world-leading marine contractor for the oil and gas industry. HMC transports, installs and removes all types of offshore facilities and operates three of the four largest crane vessels in the world. SeaVsat has all the technical expertise and technological knowledge onboard to provide the best solution during complicated Offshore projects.

SeaVsat offers global roaming with high speed internet and VoIP services, based on the latest DVB-S2/RCS technology for Vsat systems. SeaVSat  has one of the most extensive coverage areas on KU-band or C-band available and solutions can offer a speed up to 12Mb/sec and VoIP rates start at only €0,02.
